May and June are the main thunderstorm months in eastern South Dakota. One of my favorite things to do is drive out in the country and watch them roll in.
An up close and personal view of Bridal Veil Falls from my recent trip to the Black Hills region of South Dakota. In order to get to this spot I had to wade through a rushing stream, probably 20 feet wide and with ice cold crystal clear water up to my knees. The current was quite strong and I'm lucky I wasn't swept away! This shot was definitely worth the effort, though.
